NATIONAL ART EDUCATION ASSOCIATION CONVENTION

Always, one of the funniest place at the convention:
ART MATERIALS!

PRANG:
I have always used their watercolors when teaching. New favorites:

An old favorite; Les Carrés Couleurs Conté

This was presented by Sax Arts & Crafts:
Creating a monoprint using Shrinky Dinks and Caran d'ache water crayons

LETTERPRESS TRAY FROM 7 GYPSIES

I created this letterpress tray for a contest from Archiever's Scrapbook store. I won the voting contest at the Niles, IL store and now the piece is on its way to ScrapFest. There it will compete in the National contest against forty four other photo trays. The pictures are of my niece and nephews and the art work they created with me when they were little. It is hard to believe that now Josh is a freshman, Sammy is in eight grade and Emma is in fifth grade. WOW!

The stuff figures were inspired by:

7 GYPSIES (I love these eye hooks)

Inspired by SHAWNIMALS:

Josh created his own JOSHIMALS and JOSHEMON characters!

OAK PARK ARTS DISTRICT SUMMER CAMP JUNE 2011

I just completed a second year, teaching at; The Oak Park Arts District June Summer Camp. The camp takes place in a variety of art studios and businesses on Harrison Street. The two weeks provide kids the opportunity to expand their art skills with professional artists through dance and movement, mixed-media, glasswork, beading, painting, culinary arts, fiber arts, print-making, yoga and more. I taught at WHISPERS FROM THE MOON, a wonderful, magical "secret" cottage run by my friend, Lisa Source Schmitz.

CAMILLE'S BIRTHDAY PRESENT

Prior to the closing of WINDY CITY SCRAPBOOKING's store on Clybourn, I spent days there using the Accucut Die cutting machine. I now have a supply of these pages to create books!!! I also purchased the CINCH bookbinding machine, which creates the cool wire binders. I'll soon be selling one of a kind journals, like this one, on an ESTY store.
